Directions to BBI from San Jose, Guanacaste and all points north:

Take Route 34 south (the coast highway through JACO). About 30 min after Jaco you will go thru the town of Parrita. 15 min later you will cross a brand new bridge with an old rusty iron bridge next to it on the left. (RIO PAQUITA). About 1/4 mile further the road branches left and right. Take the new paved highway to the left towards Dominical. You are on the right road if you see a huge supermarket on your left,Quepos High School is on the far right corner. About a 1/4 mile further you will see the above ground town cemetery on the left. Immediately past the cemetery on the left you will go left on the dirt road. There is a little bridge about 10 yards after the turn.

Follow this dirt road through the palm trees past a little town with a soccer field on the left for about 2 1/2 miles or 4 kl.

Look for a bolder on the right with the Blue Banyan Inn sign painted on it. It is a blue and white painted rock with a picture of a Blue Banyan Tree.

Make a right turn
Go 3/4 of a ml or 1km until you get to a boulder that is painted the same as the last one, on the right side of the road. Turn right, going down the steep short hill. On the left you will see Blue banyan inn in about 100 yards. Turn left and in 50 yards turn left into the parking lot.

If you arrive after 5 PM, the guard will give you a welcome sheet and show you to your cottage.

  • Make a left, heading toward Quepos.
  • Follow to bottom of hill, about 1 mile or 1.5 km.
  • Make a right when you can’t go straight because of the one way road at the start of the soccer field.
  • At the end of the long block at the stop sign, make a left and follow 3 blocks to the end.
  • Make a left and then your first right.
  • Follow to the end of the block, make a right going over the little bridge heading toward San Jose.
  • Follow straight for about 1 mile or 1.5 km and then bear to the right which leads you onto the Costanera Highway.
  • Go about 200 yards or meters, and immediately past the cemetery on the left you will go left on the dirt road. There is a little bridge about 10 yards after the turn.
